Richard “Dickie” Curtis 3/21/2014 Carver, MA / Plymouth, MA

Richard “Dickie” Curtis, of Plymouth, died suddenly at home on March 21st. He was the beloved son of Robert F. and Edna (Timmins) Curtis. He leaves his loving companions Marian Curtis, Miss Tess, Buddy and Tia. Loving brother of Carol Groetzinger, Robert F. Curtis Jr. of Tampa, FL; William Curtis of Kingston, David Curtis of Plymouth, Constance McGrath, Michael G. Curtis of NC; Paul T. Curtis of Plymouth and their spouses, and the late Peter J. Curtis. He was also the uncle to Jennifer McGrath Bonner, Brendon Curtis, Peter McGrath, Sean Curtis and Shannon Curtis Bruno. He also leaves his best friend “who is like family to us”, Kevin McKenna. Dickie was a lifelong resident of Plymouth. Upon retiring as a Director at Verizon, he received a Certificate of Appreciation from the House of Representatives for his service to the Communications System of America. He was a member of the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers Association, Old Colony Club and an avid historian. Dickie was also a counselor at Camp Bournedale, a ranger at Myles Standish and a volunteer for TIC Network. He was honored to have been a match for a bone marrow recipient. A Church service will be held at St. Peter’s Church on Saturday, March 29th at 10 AM. There are no visiting hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that in Dickies memory lend a helping hand to someone.
