Anderson, Charles F., Jr. Retired Lt. Quincy Fire Department of South Meadow Village in South Carver formerly of Quincy, died on January 3, 2012, surrounded by the family he cherished, he was 95. The beloved husband of the late Elsie M. (Rowell) and the late Ruth E. (Chapman) Glufling. Devoted father of Linda L. Sullivan , Marybeth Gruszka both of Weymouth, Nancy Miller of Quincy, Carol Johnson of Kingston, Lt. David Anderson, QFD and his wife Maria of Randolph, Dwight Anderson, WFD of Waltham, Dennis Glufling of Cohasset and Deborah Bearde and her husband Brian of Braintree. Brother of the late Mary Davis, Richard and Ruth Anderson. Brother in law of John Richards, Ret. QFD of Plymouth. Charles is also survived by 14 grandchildren one of which is a proud third generation firefighter serving on the Hull Fire Department, he is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charles was a proud graduate of Boston Latin School Class of 1935. He served on the Quincy Fire Department for 35 years retiring back in 1977. He was a member of the Quincy Firefighters Relief Association. He loved to dance with his beloved late wife Elsie, together they enjoyed music and traveling especially to Hawaii. He also enjoyed following New England Sports teams and truly enjoyed bowling. Charles always enjoyed reading the daily newspaper to keep on top of current events. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a cherished father, grandfather and a dedicated and proud firefighter. He was always there for his family including his brother firefighters. Charles will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure to know him. His family will be forever grateful for all the blessings he brought into their lives. The Anderson family would like to express their sincere thanks and deep gratitude to the staff at Life Care Center in Scituate for the tender care given to their Dad and to the entire family during his final days.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Monday morning prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 11 AM.

Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

Lisa Marie Rizzo, born August 25, 1958, of Carver, formerly of Quincy, passed away on February 25, 2012 after a long illness.

Loving mother of the late Acacia Rizzo-Cugno; daughter of Louis and Elaine Rizzo of Braintree, formerly of Quincy; sister to Eloise Papile of Hingham, Karen Savino and her husband James of Nahant, Therese Nicklas and her husband Gerald of Quincy, Louis Rizzo Jr. of Mashpee, Dean Rizzo and his wife Barbara Anglin of Plymouth; aunt to several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; godmother to Kensington Hernandez from CA; and dear friend to many.

Lisa loved traveling, music, reading, cooking, good food, good wine and most of all getting together with friends and family for a good laugh. Lisa was a speech and language teacher, taught kindergarten and ran the children’s library within the Middleboro Public School system for twenty years. She also taught in Southern California at Zella Davis Elementary School for several years and because of her skillful and creative approach to education was beloved by her students.

A Memorial funeral Mass will be held on Thursday March 1, 2012 at Saint Joseph’s Church, 272 Main Street, Rte 106, Kingston, at 10:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life reception will follow at The Jones River Trading reception center at 42 Elm St., Kingston. Beloved wife of the late George C. Seibert. Loving mother of George C. Seibert Jr. of Pembroke, Eleanor F. Whalen of Georgia, Virginia L. Seibert of California, and Richard A. Seibert of Taunton. Daughter of the late Francis and Josephine (Lashua) DeCelle. Cherished grandmother of 10, and great-grandmother of 10.
A 10:00 AM memorial service will be held at Our Lady of the Lourdes Parish, 130 Main St (Rt. 58) Carver, on Friday, May 18, 2012. Interment will be at the Winthrop Cemetery in Winthrop,following the service.

Ralph A. Kivi, of Carver, passed away on May 15, 2012. He was 76 years old. Mr. Kivi worked for K.F. Brick in Middleboro for 22 years, and was a cranberry grower for Ocean Spray. He loved the outdoors, old cars, and his pets, especially his cat “Stoney”.
Beloved husband of Judith Kivi. Loving father of Katrina Kivi of Plymouth, and Kevin Kivi and his wife Cynthia of Carver. Son of the late Kaarlo and Emmie Kivi. Brother of Helen Torrance and her husband David of Plymouth, and the late Marilyn Woolson. Cherished grandfather of Kayla Lloyd, Kirsten Lloyd, Kassandra Lloyd, Molly Kivi, and Jaakob Kivi. Great grandfather of Brody McFarland. Ralph is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Earl A. Simmons, Jr., of Carver, formerly of North Pembroke, passed away on December 12, 2011.

He graduated from Pembroke High School, class of “48″ and joined the U.S. Naval Reserve, serving from 1948 through 1961. He worked for Stop & Shop Supermarkets, belonged to the Quarter Century Club and was Captain of the North Pembroke Company 3 Volunteer Fire Department, retiring in 1976.

Earl was the beloved husband of Jeanne L. (Fisher) Simmons and devoted father of Karin E. Simmons & her husband Ray Martinez of Anchorage, Alaska; son of the late Earl and Esther Simmons, formerly of North Pembroke; brother of Richard Simmons of Pembroke and the late Lloyd Simmons formerly of Tuscon, Arizona.

Private services will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on June 8, 2012.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Earl’s life at the American Legion Post #40, Federal Furnace Road, Plymouth, on Saturday, June 9, 2012, from 1:00-4:00 PM.

Louise Johnson Fratus aged 90 died June 3, 2012. She was born in Brockton, MA and was the widow of Alton B. Snell of Halifax and Ervin Fratus of Carver. Louise was a resident of Carver for many years. She was a nutritionist and upgraded many of the State’s school foods programs. She also made highly prized wedding cakes, catered weddings and was a choreographer of line dances taught throughout Florida where she resided in later years. Beloved Mother, she leaves her son, Russell Snell of Halifax, daughter Barbara Dahill of Cambridge, grandchildren Dwayne Snell and wife Jannelle of Plymouth, Wendy Pioppi and husband Peter of Carver, Beth Elliot, and husband John of N. Dighton and Bonnie Mazareigos also of North Dighton, great grandchildren Joshua and Hannah Snell, Peter Junior, Dakota and Ava Pioppi, Sarah Laudati and Ana Sofia Mazariegos.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 12th at 10:00AM at the Halifax Congregational Church. Interment will be at the Lakenham cemetery in Carver.

Born in Holbrook, he was the son of the late Herbert & Elizabeth Clark.

Donald was a lifetime antique dealer and lover of antique weapons and antiques in general. For several years, he was also an electrical engineer for Raytheon.

He leaves his wife of 49 years, Pattricia J. (Dondero) Clark; his daughter, Maureen Clark of Plymouth; his son, Brian Clark of Shreveport, LA and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Herbert Clark.

Funeral services and interment will be private.

Alva Louise (Hipson) Hoadley, a longtime resident of Stoughton passed away after a period of failing health on Monday July 23, 2012. She was 86 years old and the beloved wife of the late Melvin R. Hoadley.

Born April 26, 1926 in Boston,Massachusetts she was a daughter to the late Athelston Y. and Eva E. Hipson. Alva attended and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. She married her late husband in 1949, resided in Dorchester and later moved to Stoughton in 1954. Mrs. Hoadley was employed by the Masoneilan Company in Avon,Massachusetts for over 17 years. She retired in 1996.

Her survivors include her son Wayne of Stoughton, a daughter Lynne and her husband Tim Farina of Carver, her son Alan and his wife Donna also of Stoughton, three grandsons Eric, Jason and David, two nieces and a nephew.
Alva enjoyed all of her summers with her family and friends at her cottage on Long Pond in Lakeville, Massachusetts. She also took numerous ocean cruises with her late sister Marie Wilson. Destinations included the Carribean, a Panama Canal Passage and a voyage on the Queen Mary II.

Alva was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

A visiting hour will be Thursday July 26, 2012 at 10 A.M. Followed by her funeral service at 11:00 A.M. from the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. The Reverend Rebecca L. Cho, officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.Flowers are welcome.

Myron “Tom” Weston, age 89, of Carver, died on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Plymouth.

Born in Carver, Tom was the son of the late Frank & Florence (Vaughan) Weston. He was a World War II, U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 164 in Carver. Tom was one of four brothers owning Weston Bros. Inc., a construction and cranberry company located on France Street in Carver. He was an avid vegetable garden grower and worked part-time for his sons company, Weston Bros. Cranberries in Carver.

Tom was the beloved husband of the late Irene (Ware) Weston; loving father of Thomas A. Weston of East Wareham and James E. Weston of Carver; devoted brother of the late Homer F. Weston, Roger V. Weston and Winston A. Weston.

Graveside services at the Central Cemetery, Route 58, Carver, on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM.
