Diane P. Newton, age 64, of Carver, died Friday, February 8, 2013, at her home. Born in Aberdeene, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Phyllis A. (Pithan) & Lt. Col. (Retired) Carlos E. Newton. Diane enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, playing games, coloring, cooking and caring for others. She loved her cat “Midnight”, had a great sense of humor and was an inspiration to those who knew her. “Elvis” was a favorite of Diane’s. She enjoyed his music and watching old Elvis movies. This past September, she enjoyed a BBQ with a special appearance by Elvis, and had the time of her life dancing and singing along. She will be missed by all. Diane is survived by brothers; James D. Newton & his wife Tammy of Port Angeles, Washington and Robert Newton of Washington. She was the sister of the late Larry E. Newton and niece of the late Louise Newton. Roy A. MacKay, of Carver, formerly of Plymouth and Sandwich, died on February 19th at Jordan Hospital at the age of 80. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Shirley (Manson) of Carver and his sons Scott MacKay of Duxbury and Kevin MacKay of Greenfield. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren Justin, Ian, and Allie. He was the father of the late Gary MacKay. Roy was born in Brockton, son of the late Neil and Mary (MacKenzie) MacKay. He was a contractor and builder of many houses in the Plymouth area. He enjoyed model airplanes and was one of the founders of the South Shore Radio Control Club in Bridgewater. Raymond I. Dunham, 63, of Wareham, formerly of Carver, passed peacefully at Tobey Hospital on Thursday February 21st after a long illness. He was the son of the late Frances M. Dunham and the late Jennie M. (Snow) Dunham. He was the brother of the late Lorraine Dooley and the late Francis Maier. He was raised in Carver and graduated from Plymouth-Carver High School. He was also involved in the local cranberry growing for many years. Raymond is survived by his daughter, Joan Dunham-Young and her spouse Pamela Young of Wareham, two brothers, Norman Dunham of Novato, California, Wayne Dunham and his wife Ann of Carver as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Robert D. Shedd, age 80, of Carver passed away March 6, 2013 under the compassionate care of Nemasket Healthcare Center in Middleboro. . He was born August 2, 1932 in Cambridge MA to Robert Lemuel and Marguerite Danforth Shedd. He was a graduate of The Mount Hermon School and attended Tufts University. His first job was with the family business, Craig & Shedd Sunoco station in Mattapan Square. Life next took him to the world of airline catering where he worked for Northeast Airlines and the Marriott Corporation. Over the years his hobbies included raising and showing dogs especially Boxers and Golden Retrievers but he never met a dog he didn’t love. He was an avid sailor out of Buzzards Bay, and he loved participating in the “Figawi” sailing race every year. He was an active participant in Habitat for Humanity for many years. He was married for 59 years to Ann P. Shedd who predeceased him in 2012. He is survived by his children Sarah (Sally) Howland and her husband Richard of Carver, Robert Danforth Shedd, Jr. (Danny) and his wife Susan of Ashburnham, MA, Rebecca (Becky) Foley and her husband Tom Of Carver, Martha Gordon and her husband Tom of N. Dighton, MA, and Nancy Hubbard and her husband Stephen of Carver, 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Cynthia Lanphear. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren. Borne Margaret Baxter Provan in Bearsden, Scotland, she spent most of her life in Quincy. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1933. After raising her family in Quincy, She and George moved to Weymouth. After George retired from the Quincy Shipyard, they moved to Carver. She was a devoted member of the Salem Lutheran church in Quincy and The United Parish Church in Carver. Terri Nicole Thibodeau (TNT), age 32, formerly of Carver, MA, passed away at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA, on March 20, 2013. Ms. Thibodeau was born in Weymouth, MA, on December 28, 1980. She was a 1999 graduate of Bristol County Agricultural High School where she majored in large animal sciences. Terri went on to work with the Plymouth County 4H Club and was a long-time member and volunteer of the Rocking Rabbits youth club. She worked from 1999 to 2010 at O’Neil’s Dairy Farm in Duxbury, MA where she faithfully milked 40 cows, rain or shine, snow or sleet. In 2010, Terri ventured into the world of java and became a barista at Starbucks in Reading, MA. Terri gave her whole heart to everything she ever did and everyone she ever met. She is survived by her mother, Lisa L. Thibodeau and father Robert E. Thibodeau of Durham, NC; maternal grandmother, Greta Glass of Addison, ME; paternal grandparents, Phyllis (Paulding) and Robert E. Thibodeau Sr. of Mansfield, MA; brother, Robert E. Beverly B. (Butterfield) Searle, 91, of Carver, formerly of Whitman, passed away on April 1st, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard L. Searle, Jr. She was born in Baldwin Wisconsin, daughter of the late Manley and Norma (Reinhart) Butterfield. Beverly was brought up in Hanson and was a graduate of Whitman High. She lived in Whitman, Hanover, Norwell, before moving to Carver 30 years ago. Beverly helped in her family’s restaurant business in Pembroke, Bryantville and baking pies in her sister’s restaurant Butterfield’s in Rockland. She loved to work in her garden and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, was an avid reader and in her younger years, she bowled in many leagues in Rockland. She is survived her son Richard L. Searle,III and his fiancé Betsy Longo of NH, her brother Thomas Butterfield and his wife Shirley of Carver, her sister Barbara Danner and her husband Wilbur of Hanson; also 2 grandchildren Richie and Jenn and 6 great grandchildren, Kaden, Gavin, Mack, Josie, George and Grace. She was also predeceased by 6 siblings. Her services will be held on Friday April 5th at 11:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman.
